Road Tripping

There is something to be said for a family road trip. My family took to the highway last July, exploring the New England coast and it was a vacation we will never forget. From stunning views to getting to explore different areas (and rank our favorite lobster roll), this style of travel allows for a lot of flexibility and spontaneity, something we can all use right about now.

From coast to coast keep reading to see some of our favorite summer road trips!

Driving south down the California Coast sounds pretty fantastic right now. Start your trip below San Francisco with the dramatic views at Ritz Carlton, Half Moon Bay, enjoy endless activities at Carmel Valley Ranch, spend some time at the beach near Santa Barbara at Rosewood Miramar Beach, and end in the City of Angels with a stay at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel. From oceanfront escapes to beautiful city views, this road trip will give you a taste of some of California's best. We couldn’t let the southern parts of California have all the fun, when northern California is pretty spectacular in the summer. Head to San Francisco and stay at Cavello Point, nestled at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge, providing a beautiful natural setting, but easy access to explore San Francisco. Head up to the new Montage Healdsburg, in the heart of Sonoma. Kids will love the Paintbox kid’s club, while the adults will appreciate the 11,500 sq. ft. spa and access to the best dining and wineries. End your adventure by driving north to enjoy the more rustic beauty of 2,000 acres of land and 1.5 miles of rugged coastline at the Inn at Newport Ranch, where you will feel truly away from it all. There is no place like New England in the summer, and the best way to take in all the quintessential views is by car. From Rhode Island to Maine, spend your summer getaway eating all the seafood, exploring local lighthouses, and relaxing at these luxury resorts. Explore Maine with a stay at the beachfront Inn by the Sea and the cliffside Cliff House, before heading to Cape Cod for a stay at the family beach favorite, Chatham Bars Inn. Finish with a stay at the grande dame of the Rhode Island coast, the glamorous Ocean House. With adventurous outdoor activities and beautiful wide-open spaces, as well as some pretty amazing summer weather, Colorado offers a fantastic summer road trip. Explore Denver with a stay at the Four Seasons, before hitting the road for Aspen, which we love as much in the summer as in the winter. With a prime location, Little Nell is a great home base to explore this fantastic mountain town. Ending the road trip at Gateway Canyons rewards you with beautiful views and amazing family friendly activities. This is definitely the year of the RV trip. If this has always been on your bucket list, we have you covered to do it in ease and style. A National Park RV road trip out west is the ultimate summer escape and with easy flights in and out of Las Vegas, this road trip route is an absolute must. Explore Zion, Moab, and Bryce Canyon on your RV getaway, taking in the open highway. We plan the entire itinerary, with all accommodations and activities with private guides. Of course you do not want to sleep on the RV every night, so we include glamping, and a stay at Amangiri or Sorrel River Ranch. The Blue Ridge Parkway offers an epic iconic road trip getaway, passing through Virginia and North Carolina. Driving through these stunning mountain ranges provides a gorgeous getaway, but we suggest some detours along the way to check out the wineries and some US history in Charlottesville with a stay at Boars Head Inn, before continuing on to relax in the natural beauty at Primland. We suggest to keep heading on to Tennessee to end with a stay at the cozy mountain escape, Blackberry Mountain.
